The first brace included Why Not John, handled by Jerry Lewis and Matrix Mountain Breese, handled by Rich Robertson. On a knoll, Why Not John is pointing behind a bush as Jerry gets ready to flush out a bird. The bird flushed and the setter stood its ground well. Note, that Jerry's horse ground ties.

After the bird flushed, Jerry collars his setter. Terry Erickson readys to dismount from his horse to hold Why Not John. Judge Colvin Davis is nearby to watch the activities.

Mazie Davis (with yellow vest) and a group of riders follow Jerry Lewis along the trial course. Jerry is handling Why Not John a 2X RU Champion.

Paul Well, Dr. Charles Hjerp, Sean Kelly and others follow along a dirt road that the dog truck uses to deliver the dogs to the correct location. The judges were quite accurate and ended at the right location for the next brace.
