Dog Camp II

I went to visit the West/West/Gibbons dog training camp in Arnett, Oklahoma (USA) by inviatation from Bill West. I also took the opportunity to visit Lou Gleber, who hosted his own camp nearby. Driving from Southern California to Arnett covered many different terrain and habitats, from sea level to over 7,000 ft elevation. The images below illustrate the various and beautiful landscapes found in the Southwest.

The town of Flagstaff, Arizona is surrounded by abundant ponderosa pines and wildlife. The area is famous for trophy elk and deer. It is also a gateway to the south rim of the Grand Canyon.
Wonderful landscape of New Mexico buttes with colors of white, pink and red. Nearby are pinion pines and scrub oak trees.

The continental divide is the point in which water runs either west to the Pacific or east into the Atlantic oceans. The 'Divide' runs along the Rocky Mountains.
Throughout the Southwest are Native American homes. Many of these sites can be seen along most travel routes.

Texas and prairie are closely related with thousands of acres of open space for cattle and wildlife. Some parts of Texas receive little rain. Notice the jumping jolla cactus on the right.
Near Amarillo, Texas, sunflowers grow in cultivated fields. All the flowers point east towards the sun.
